# Changelog

> What changed in each Posy release.

All notable changes to Posy are in this file.
The format follows [Keep a Changelog](https://keepachangelog.com/en/1.1.0/), and Posy uses [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/).

## [Unreleased]

### Changed

* Every look follows the layout again. Grid shows the look's own arrangement, List shows its phone arrangement on every screen, and Canvas places the look's own pieces freely.
* Desktop arrangements are rebuilt so pages fill the screen in even rows, from one link to many. Short pages sit in the middle of the first screen. Phone views lose their empty gaps.
* Painted is the default look for new pages.

### Fixed

* The painting on the sign-in pages kept animating after you moved on to the editor.

## [2.0.0] - 2026-10-16

Posy is now a product you can sign up for or host yourself.

### Added

* Six looks: Desk, Washi, Lofi, Painted, Cobalt and Night. Each draws the same tiles its own way and has four palettes, with scenes, photo styles (including dark photos, natural colour, crop and zoom) and a starter page.
* Accounts (email and password, GitHub and Google when configured), claim `/<username>`, draft then Publish.
* The editor at `/edit`: paste a link to add a tile, drag to reorder, undo and redo, autosave, a phone editor, a Design panel with looks, palettes, backgrounds, fonts and layouts (bento, list and canvas), and a QR code.
* The page file: one JSON file (`page.json`) with a JSON Schema, a CLI (`npm run posy`), and Download and Import in Settings to move between posy.page and your own server.
* A REST API (`/api/v1`) with an OpenAPI document and a public JSON view of every page.
* A hosted MCP server at `/api/mcp` with API keys, live sync into the open editor, and a Claude Code and Cursor plugin.
* Agent files: per-page `llms.txt` and `llms-full.txt`, and an `AGENTS.md` for coding agents.
* Tiles: link, social (29 platforms and email), note, section, image, YouTube, Spotify and GitHub repo, with automatic link unfurling.
* Per-user share image (OG), favicon and sitemap.
* Dashboard: analytics (views and clicks per tile), Agents and Settings (rename, export, delete account).
* Self-hosting: Docker image and Compose file, Vercel with Turso and Blob, migrations on start, and `POSY_SIGNUP` (the first user owns the instance by default).
* Community files: code of conduct, security policy, issue and pull request templates, CodeQL and Dependabot.

### Changed

* The static export and `content/page.json` mode are gone. Export your page as JSON from Settings instead.
* The Minimal look is no longer offered. It stays as a hidden fallback for old pages.

### Removed

* Retired looks (Press, Gallery and others) and their art. Old pages map to the closest current look.
* Unused UI components and leftover assets.

## [1.0.0] - 2026-10-14

First release.

* Bento-style tile page with four sizes, sections, and a profile that sits beside the grid or above it.
* Tiles: link, social (29 platforms + email), note, section title, image, YouTube, Spotify, GitHub repo.
* Eight themes (Cream, Lavender, Mint, Sky, Peach, Paper, Midnight, Mocha), custom accent, four font pairs, three corner styles.
* Studio at `/edit`: paste any link to add a tile, drag to reorder, inline editing, undo/redo, autosave, mobile preview, QR code.
* Live sync: edits to `content/page.json` (by you or an AI agent) appear in the open studio.
* JSON Schema and a CLI (`npm run posy`) for agents and scripts.
* Static export that works with JavaScript disabled; GitHub Pages workflow with daily refresh; playground build.
